Please read the Job Description carefully before providing information in this Section of the Application Form. Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job. *: I qualified as a speech and language therapist in 2016 and have since worked with a range of children., age 18 months - 18 years, to support them and their families. I regularly work with disabled children/ children with additional needs, including children with ASD, and am an advocate for their independence and voice within society. I have also spent a month volunteering in Romania with children with additional needs in the scope of a speech and language therapist, and supporting these children to access their community.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person? *: I think the main qualities are to be proactive, caring, understanding, patient, reliable and flexible. I also think a person-centred approach is extremely important because every child is different and has different needs, preferences, likes/dislikes etc.

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person? *: I am educated in the development of children, and how best to support children that develop typically and atypically. I believe I would be able to boost individuals confidence to become more independent by modelling, scaffolding their learning, and supporting them to experience new things/activities.

Also, most PA positions are flexible in terms of the hours available, which suits me.

What are your hobbies/interests?: I love being active and being outdoors so my hobbies include walking/ hiking, going to the beach, swimming and exploring new places. I also enjoy the cinema, baking, and reading in my spare time.
