Please read the Job Description carefully before providing information in this Section of the Application Form. Give details of your previous employment or experience which you think would help you to do this job

I have a 2:1 BSc Hons Health and Social Care Degree and have studied various modules such as working with vulnerable people, illness and diseases, Working in the community and so on. I have a sound understanding of the modules mentioned above alongside many more and believe I could put my knowledge into practice to ensure the needs of the individual are met in a friendly yet professional way.

In 2012, I completed a peer advocacy course and understand the importance of helping people voice their needs and opinions.

I also have a Health and Social Care A-level alongside others and 11 GCSE's.

What qualities do you think are important when working as a personal assistant with a disabled person?

Compassion, kindness and empathy and having a non judgmental attitude are four of the main qualities I feel are important to have for the role of a personal assistant. I am an easy going individual who likes helping people, after reading the job description I believe that my personal qualities match the individuals needs and look forward to having the opportunity to help her regain her self esteem and attending social activities!

How do you think you can contribute towards the needs and the independence of a disabled person?

As mentioned elsewhere, I have a Health and Social Care Degree.

I believe having a good quality of life is imperative to an individual and feel my knowledge, skills and personality will benefit me whilst trying to help this individual maintain her independence despite having a disability.

Aswell as this, my personality and personal interests are well suited to those that are outlined in the job description.

What is it about PA work which appeals to you?

Although I have no direct experience in working as a personal assistant, I currently work as a nutritional aide within a care Home environment and enjoy assisting the elderly with food and drink. Having experienced helping people during this role it has made me want to help others but on a more one to one basis as I have seen first hand the difference a friendly face can make to an individuals day.

What are your hobbies/interests?

My main hobbies include taking my dogs out for long walks, spending time with family and friends. Going to the cinema and meals out and shopping!
