Personal Assistant

 

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

Young boy living in the Pontcanna area of Cardiff is looking for a personal assistant to help his independence and provide respite for his family.

He would like the PA to play and help him in the house (with parents there initially) with a view to pick him up from school and take him to activities once he builds up trust and feels comfortable.

He has developmental trauma and attachment difficulties that means he is emotionally much younger than his age and can be very quick to react.

He loves computer games, parkour and spending time with his dogs.

 

HOURS OF WORK

24 hours to be used flexibly over the month.

After school and weekend hours.

RATE OF PAY

£10.42 per hour

 

TASKS INVOLVED

Playing and supporting, attending activities and preparing snacks / tea. 

 

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

  • Reliable, committed and punctual 
  • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy 
  • Confident and trustworthy  
  • Consistent and calm person who would be willing to undertake paid training in management of my difficulties.  
  • Experience of managing children with emotional disregulation would be preferred but training is available if the right candidate does not have the experience.  
  • Driver with clean driving license preferred 
  • 2 friendly dogs and a cat in the house

 

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
